welcome!
My name is Anusha. I am a healer & creator currently living and working in occupied Dakota and Anishinaabe lands in so-called Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Samasti Studio, originally AR Clay, was born in 2020 when I began making jewelry as a form of emotional release and creative expression at the beginning of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. My making is, and has always been, rooted in play. My pieces are made in tiny batches. No two are the same and I do not aim for perfection.
As my skillset and vision have grown, so too has the range of pieces I create. On this site, you'll find a selection of thoughtfully designed jewelry made from a variety of mediums, including polymer clay, glass and stone beads, wire, and metals. I also sell carefully curated vintage home goods and jewelry with a mission of bringing sustainable & affordable style to your home.
mutual aid
Since beginning this project in 2020, I have continued to navigate survival and community in the context of late stage racial capitalism. From 2020-2023, I redistributed 100% of profits from every single sale in the form of mutual aid and direct citizen-level reparations. Please see my instagram for receipts and more information.
With the transition from AR Clay to Samasti Studio, this project has become larger than I ever imagined it would be. With sustainability and mutual care in mind, starting in 2024, web sales from samastistudio.com will support me and pay for my materials and operating costs, just like any other business.
In addition to my web sales, I will also be holding separate, regularly scheduled Instagram story sales, with 100% of profits redistributed as mutual aid and direct citizen level reparations. I hope this balance will allow me to continue sustaining myself and furthering my mission of collective and community care.
Please reach out through my website or instagram with questions or to learn more about my mutual aid practices.
